Buddhas in Thailand
The first of the photos
The day after yesterday

In "Pattern Recognition" William Gibson theorizes that jet lag is caused by the time it takes your soul to catch back up with your body. My flight from Bangkok to Tokyo was 6 hours. Once in Tokyo I had an 8.5 hour layover before moving on to San Francisco. That should have been plenty of time. In fact, I think it was. I would be fine right now if a small Japanese woman in a blue skirt suit hadn't thrown a stiff-arm on my soul as I was heading through the employee security check thanks to a very last minute standby call. As I stepped through the metal detector I looked over my shoulder and saw it drop to a knee, wincing. I tried to wait, but my ANA employee escort was politely hearding me towards immigration.
I have not seen it since.
The Pacific is very big. Somewhere out there is Hawaii - Very tempting for a wandering soul. It may have given up on catching up altogether. It may not be coming back.
I've been using my two wide awake hours (between 5:30am and 7:30am PST) to post messages to the Craigslist Honolulu Missed Connections message board. I guarantee my soul will stop at an internet cafe. Hopefully it will see my messages.
The rest of my time is spent in deep sleep or fits of mild retardation. I apologize to anyone in that gooey old real life that I haven't made sense on the phone too, fell asleep on, or otherwise seem utterly disinterested with. And for those of you less fleshy folks, stories and photos are priority number one, if and when my better half returns.
Back on US soil

And completely exhausted.
